On March 4, the NY billionaire attacked Obama in a tweet, claiming that he had "tapped" his phone while he was busy campaigning for the November 8 vote, further suggesting that the British intelligence was also involved in the move.

He added that Trump "should admit he was wrong, stop the outlandish tweets".

The top Democrat on the House intelligence committee says he hopes FBI Director James Comey will put questions about whether Trump Tower was wiretapped by President Barack Obama "permanently to rest". The Justice Department oversees the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies.

During questioning at today's House Intelligence hearing into Russian interference of the presidential election, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers was asked about the baseless claim repeated by the White House that British spy agency GCHQ was utilized by former President Barack Obama to wiretap President Donald Trump and associates prior to the election.

"That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia's efforts", Comey said in his opening statement to the committee.

Comey says no individual can order surveillance of an American.

United Kingdom ready to launch Brexit process on March 29
The move comes nine months after Britain voted 51.9 percent to 48.1 percent in favour of Brexit in a referendum on 23 June, 2016. Britain will not actually leave the European Union until early 2019, ideally having tied up a mutually acceptable exit deal.

It led to U.S. officials making an apology for repeating the claims which had been initially made on Fox News.

"Many of Trump's campaign personnel, including the President himself, have ties to Russia and Russian interests".

Testifying in front of the House Intelligence Committee Monday, NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers re-emphasized that although the Russian government did in fact wage a strong propaganda campaign during the 2016 USA presidential election, votes were not changed. Trump wrote shortly after 6:30 a.m. ET, followed by: "The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a bad campaign". But it was being done with the full knowledge of people like [former Central Intelligence Agency director] John Brennan and [former Director of National Intelligence] Jim Clapper. "James Clapper and others stated there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russian Federation".

The committee is holding a hearing on the issue Monday.

Comey has been invited to testify, along with the director of the National Security Agency, Michael Rogers.
