Public Pulse: Trust Don Bacon on health care

Sen. Elizabeth Warren D-Mass. speaks with reporters as Democrats criticize the Republican health care plan at the Capitol in Washington Tuesday March 14 2017

"After considering the current healthcare bill in a thorough and deliberate manner, I have concluded that, although the American Health Care Act focuses on several much-needed reforms to our healthcare system, in its current form I can not support this legislation", Fitzpatrick wrote on Facebook on Sunday.

Under the proposed replacement, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates 24 million Americans will lose medical insurance coverage in the next decade. And the result will be my recommendation that our national legislators vote down the American Health Care Act (AHCA). We put some of your questions from our Twitter chat (#ACAchat) earlier this month to Alison Kodjak, NPR health policy correspondent, and Julie Rovner, chief Washington correspondent for Kaiser Health News. "Because Obamacare mandated people be covered, whether they needed crappy government healthcare or not". "What they're saying is, this isn't 'freedom, ' this isn't people voluntarily deciding not to have health insurance, it's that your plan makes it unaffordable for people".

"I know a lot of people who suffered through Obamacare, situations where they could get their medicines", she said. We're not for when you get sick, the taxpayer takes over the tab for the insurance company.

Kodjak: It's not without risk.

US President Donald Trump's approval rating drops to 37 per cent
Barack Obama's approval rating hovered in the low 60s during this point in his first term, while George W Bush hit the mid-50s. The healthcare plan could leave 24 million people uninsured by 2026, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Researchers develop infrared-based wi-fi 100 times faster than current ones
Since a safe infrared wavelength is used that does not reach the vulnerable retina in your eye, this technique is harmless. An added advantage is that of scrupulous elimination of the phenomenon of interference from a neighboring Wi-fi network.

Democratic officials, health care interests, AARP and even some conservative Republicans oppose the bill.

"It's evolving and the president wants to make it better than the current House bill is what I have heard, so I'm all for that", Blum said, adding that Republican President Donald Trump is a businessman and deal maker who is talking to various Republicans at the Capitol to work on improving the bill. The GOP's tax credits are not as generous as Obamacare's subsidies for lower-income enrollees. And this amount doesn't begin to cover deductibles and copayments. Others had no tax refunds coming so they weren't affected. The GOP credits, by contrast, are based primarily on age and do not vary according to the cost of insurance in an area, so in low-priced parts of the country they will go farther than in very high-cost areas. Elderly citizens would face higher insurance premiums and smaller tax credits, while wealthy people and insurance companies would benefit from billions of dollars in tax cuts.

Democrats have said the GOP healthcare plan would see millions of Americans lose their insurance and hurt the elderly, poor and working families. "So that's why their forecast of the coverage for the Republican bill is so odd".

At some point you must pay because you will need care. The GOP bill would change that so older adults could be charged five times more.

Paul Ryan misleads us with his claim that Obamacare is failing because it essentially forces healthy, young people to subsidize older, ill individuals. Then I would have plenty of money to buy health insurance.
