ARM unveils Dynamiq multicore chip designs for faster AI and cloud computing

But as we enter into an age where artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a bigger part of our lives, we need even more powerful processors to leverage these capabilities. To address these needs, we are previewing our new ARM DynamIQ technology to enable our partners with higher performance ceilings than ever before without compromising efficiency.
With that in mind, ARM is announcing its DynamIQ architecture, which it labels "Multicore Redefined". 'For example, 1+3 or 1+7 DynamIQ big.LITTLE configurations with substantially more granular and optimal control are now possible.
The DynamIQ cluster technology will allow up to eight completely different cores to be used in a big.LITTLE style. "Along with this we have an optimised memory sub system with faster access and power saving features", he said. 'DynamIQ big.LITTLE carries on the "right processor for the right task" approach and enables configurations of big and LITTLE processors on a single compute cluster which were previously not possible, ' explained ARM's Nandan Nayampally at the unveiling. DynamIQ also includes dedicated processor instructions for ML and AI, the company has claimed, which will scale over the next 3-5 years to offer a fifty-fold boost in performance over the company's Cortex-A73 architecture. ARM also promises a 10x increase in communications speeds between the processor and onboard hardware accelerators. With DynamIQ, each core can have different performance and power characteristics, enabling faster responsiveness to machine learning and AI applications.
Retail stocks dip after D-Mart bumper debut on D
It raised Rs 561 crore through allotment of shares to anchor investors as part of the anchor book allocation. Avenue Supermarts in Mumbai happens to be one of the most lucrative groceries and food retailers in India.
Lower latencies have also been implemented to ensure faster response times in decision making in mission critical fields, like autonomous driving where Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are increasingly finding their way into today's vehicles. And certainly it's well positioned to deliver on that front, having already proven itself a versatile component maker during the explosion of IoT devices over the past several years.
The technology should be useful for the evolving smartphone market, given the priorities around heterogeneous computing and device-based AI on mobile devices. Go inside the numbers of the recent 100 billion ARM-based chips milestone and you will see that 50 billion were shipped by our partners from 2013 to 2017, which demonstrates the industry's insatiable demand for more compute. It's aimed at the roughly 100-plus billion devices expected to ship with ARM-based chips by 2021.
