Rody off to 2-day Asean trip
Speaking to the Filipino community during his official two-day visit to Burma, the firebrand leader said the Philippines can not legalise same-sex marriage unlike what has been done in the United States and several countries in Europe.

Since taking office in July previous year, Duterte, nicknamed "the Punisher" for his lethal approach to policing, has led a bloody drugs war that has killed more than 7,000 people.
Like the Myanmar leaders who were subject of a United Nations probe over human rights concerns on the Rohingya minority, Duterte has ignored the UN's expression of concern over extrajudicial killings in his administration's drug war.
Last week, the European Parliament issued a resolution condemning the "high number of extrajudicial killings" that had taken place since he came to power.
European lawmakers said they were "deeply alarmed" by the reintroduction of the death penalty - adding capital punishment is considered "cruel and inhuman".
"I have nothing against them, but you have to stick to where God placed you", he said. I will continue until the last drug lord in the Philippines is killed and the pushers (are) out of the streets, ' he said.
More than 40,000 drug-related arrests took place between July and December a year ago, leaving prisons in the Philippines at breaking point. Duterte previously claimed Trump had praised his controversial methods of dealing with drug users and dealers, saying it was the "right way".
Duterte insisted foreign critics did not understand the Philippines. The President referred to a recent Time magazine cover article on gender and sexuality to highlight what he insisted was blanket Filipino opposition to same-sex marriage.
"That can't be applied to us, we're Catholics".
Duterte insisted he would not be cowed by warnings from foreigners that he may face prosecution over his drug war. Do not mix us all up'.
The President also met with state counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi with whom he discussed agricultural education and technological expertise Exchange.
