"I don't think it really hit me yet", said SC sophomore guard PJ Dozier. The efforts couldn't culminate into what Duke had its sights set on at the beginning of the season. The Gamecocks defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 71-68 in a close battle.too close for the No 1-seeds liking.

When the chips were down, Duke didn't have enough in the tank to keep attacking, settling for four straight 3-point attempts during the stretch that the game got away for good.

"It's an opportunity for us", Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said of the SEC.
It began to feel destined, especially after Dozier's fall-away jumper with the shot clock running down danced all around the rim - and fell in, for a nine-point lead with 6:23 remaining.
The Gamecocks play tough defense, but the Blue Devils have too many weapons and will be too much for SC. "They fed off the crowd, I think, and it gave them a lot of energy".

If you just woke up from a dream in which the dude from "The Dan Band" was singing "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" to the crying Northwestern kid, consider yourself lucky. "And it is thankful, thankful that we got a chance to play at our place because I don't think the results, and I say this a lot, I think the results would be different if we were at another gym".

But Allen, who often can be disarming in his dealings with the media, hardly seemed to be a bad guy while being interviewed after the game. It's only the second time in NCAA Tournament history that a pair of 30-win teams has played in the second round.

There's still plenty of games to be played, but the door is open - particularly in the East - for a low-seeded team to make a run. We accomplished so much as people and that's something that no one will take away from us. "That's something no-one ever sees".
