Colorado's first drive-thru pot shop opens on 4/20 (of course) in Parachute
In two days, camera crews from the "Today Show" and other national programs will be on hand to see Smith open what will be the nation's first known legal drive-thru marijuana shop.
The first USA drive-through marijuana dispensary is set to open on Thursday in a small town in Colorado, a state that has been at the forefront of pot legalization.
When the "for sale" sign went up on the Valley Car Wash in Parachute, Colo., Mark Smith didn't waste a second.
Local marijuana dispensary Tumbleweed made a decision to cave to requests for marijuana after dark when the vehicle wash across the street went up for sale. "I just saw a need for our customers", CEO Mark Smith told local media. "So, it seemed like the ideal fit", Smith said. So he bought the auto wash and set to work transforming the vehicle bay into a new place to sell his wares.
Smith said he was taken aback by all the attention. A lot of things lined up.

And with tears and anger, she lashed out at the man who shot her and killed her husband during a traffic dispute a year ago . That was the same request from Hayes' mother, whose uncontrollable sobbing led to a brief recess while she composed herself.
"We think the drive-through is a very creative and innovative idea", Parachute Town Manager Stuart McArthur told the Post Independent in February.
Everyone in the auto has to be 21 or older and occupants will have their IDs checked twice - once outside and then again once they pull into the dispensary.
Parachute is home to about 1,100 people and marijuana is big business in the small town.
The shop will be open from 4 p.m.to midnight, Thursday thru Sunday.
Almost 30 percent of the town's tax receipts in 2016 were from marijuana sales, down from the previous year, showing that neighboring businesses are growing because of the new industry.
Sweet Drinks Linked to Dementia
People who consume diet drinks every day are nearly three times more likely to suffer a stroke or dementia, research suggests. Scientists say they should no longer be regarded as the healthier alternative and urge the public to stick to water or milk.
