Manhunt underway for man who livestreamed homicide

Authorities in Cleveland have expanded their manhunt nationwide for Stephens a man suspected of gunning down a retiree and post

Lane said her and Stephens were romantically involved for a while and had discussed getting married.

After Godwin complies, Stephens responds: "She's the reason why this is about to happen to you", before fatally shooting his victim through a white plastic bag Godwin held up in a bid to protect himself.

Following a brief police pursuit, Stephens died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The vehicle did a half-turn and came to rest against the curb.

"He said he had no time to wait, he had to go".

Stephens, who had no prior criminal record, was not suspected in any other killings, Cleveland officials said.

Unbeknown to Stephens, staff at the restaurant recognised him and called police - telling him that his fries had been delayed in an attempt to stall him.

"We told him we were waiting on his fries for a minute just to buy some time for the cops if it actually was him", DuCharme, Jr. said.

Police believe Stephens might have left the state of Ohio.

The murderer's mom, Maggie Green, said he'd tried to say goodbye in a visit one day before Godwin's slaying. Stephens had been employed as a case worker at a children's mental health facility. The agency says that "every suicide is a tragedy" but that Stephens' death eliminates the community's fear that he might kill again.

Rumors that Stephens' phone pinged in the Erie, Pennsylvania area surfaced Monday, but Pennsylvania State Police said in a news conference Tuesday that they "had no direct knowledge" of that. Pennsylvania State Police said Stephens, the suspect in the random killing of a Cleveland retiree posted on Facebook, shot and killed.

He was wanted in Sunday's slaying of a retired OH man.

The search for Stephens got underway after he posted a video on Facebook showing himself shooting and killing Godwin, Facebook said.

"This is something that should not have been shared around the world".

"We are shocked and horrified and we don't know anything more about it", agency spokeswoman Nancy Kortemeyer told WOIO-TV.
