Every time the oh-my-god-what-happened-to-Richard-Simmons machine starts up again, the 68-year-old has to "break his silence" in one way or another and tell everyone he's totally fine.

"I reached out and I hope you will too", Simmons wrote.

Simmons, who has not been seen publicly since February 2014, made the decision to go to the hospital on Monday after having stomach problems, his manager, Michael Catalano, told PEOPLE. "You will never know how much it means to me. I'm sure I will be feeling good and back home in a couple of days", Simmons stated.

A spokesperson for Simmons confirmed the post was real.

He continued: "I'm sure there are people in your life who love and care for you and would do anything to help you with the challenges you face".

Keeping up the positive vibes, he gave his fans a shoutout: "Just knowing you care has already made me feel better. Hope to see you again soon!" he concluded.

I'm sure we'll all be hearing from Simmons the next time someone is anxious he was kidnapped by aliens and/or transformed into a giraffe being held in captivity at a local zoo.

'After a few days of battling severe indigestion and discomfort while eating, we agreed it was best for him to seek treatment, ' he said.

Earlier this year, Los Angeles police conducted a wellness check at Simmons's house after receiving reports that his housekeeper was holding him hostage.

His spokesman Michael Catalano made a statement explaining why the fitness guru was sent to the hospital.

Speculation has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks, prompted in part by the launch of "Missing Richard Simmons", a popular podcast that took an in-depth look at his disappearance from the public spotlight.

Simmons is expected to make a full recovery.

'But it is yet to be determined, I would say'.
