21 April 2017, 03:22 | Megan Pierce
Xiaomi Mi 6 will launch on April 19 and it will feature 6GB RAM and a dual rear camera according to reports
The Xiaomi Mi 6, as it was already stated first impresses with its looks. However, this variant has a glass back. At an event in Beijing, the company took the wraps off its own flagship handset, and it clearly has the S8 in its sights. The Xiaomi Mi 6 brandishes a 5.15-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) show, 6GB of RAM and comes in the previously mentioned capacity variations.
Amongst the competing devices here, the Xiaomi Mi 6features the smallest display size. It is crafted into a stainless steel frame. The device comes in Bright Black, Bright Blue, White colors and also special Silver Edition and Ceramic version with the 18K gold finish around the camera.
As per our sources, Xiaomi Mi Max2 will be named as Xiaomi Oxygen.
Similar to the Mi 5s, the Mi 6features a Qualcomm-based ultrasonic fingerprint reader built under the glass at the bottom of the phone. Outwardly, the Mi6 isn't an average looking device either.
There's no question that the Mi 6 has the might to compete with other top-level smartphones, at least on paper.
With the use of Snapdragon 835 based on the cutting-edge 10nm process, Mi 6 once again raises the bar for smartphone performance.
At the specifications end, the Mi6 carries the Snapdragon 835, with 6GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 6 doesn't only look great, it is also quite powerful.
The dual rear camera is proposed to be another banter from Xiaomi to iPhone with features such as 2X lossless zoom and regular 12MP sensor. From the images, it can be predicted that device will have a fingerprint scanner on the back panel, right below the primary camera. Up front, the smartphone packs an 8-megapixel camera. Both the Mi 6 and iPhone 7 have an f/1.8 lens for the standard camera. The smartphone bears a 16-megapixel shooter on the front. This means that Mi 6 will easily last users an entire day on a single charge. The 64GB version will go on sale for approximately $360, while the 128GB storage option will take customers as far as $420.
The flagship for Xiaomi has ditched the headphone jack and embraced wrater resistant properties.
The smartphone also offer 2×2 dual Wi-Fi technology which increase connectivity and speed. The OnePlus 3T and the Honor 8, on the other hand, are priced at Rs 29,999. The company's software, known as Oxygen OS, comes with lot of customisation options. The 64GB Xiaomi Mi 6 model is valued at 2,499 Yuan ($363), while the 128GB storage variation is priced at 2,899 Yuan ($421). All this is available for just 2,899 Yuan or $421. Like virtually all Xiaomi phones, the Mi 6 isn't slated to arrive in the states. It may come to India, but the company isn't telling the exact release date.
