Telegram Messenger gets bot payments and video messages
Telegram has received a slew of features in its latest version bringing a subtle combination of digital payments, artificial intelligence, and video messaging. So, whenever you post a video message to a public channel within Telegram, it will be automatically uploaded to the new video hosting platform, and it will receive a public URL, which can be accessed by anyone.
Telegram also introduced its Instant View feature, which lets users read articles directly on the app, resembling Facebook's Instant Article and Google's AMP platform. "By the way, if holding the button seems like too much work, you can lock the camera in recording mode by swiping up", the team revealed in an announcement blog post. To record a message, you tap the audio record button to flip to video record mode, then press and hold the record button. The application compresses video messages and sends them even as they are being recorded, which is why they arrive at their destination very fast. Just like with voice messages, this behavior can be switched off in the Settings menu of Telegram.
The messaging app also introduced a chat bot payment feature, which means Bot developers can now accept payments from users worldwide. Finally, Telegram now also features Telescope, a video platform that doesn't require a Telegram account and can publicly host recordings. What this feature does is allow anyone to view articles directly in the Telegram app and create article previews using the Instant View Editor. To initiate the process, Telegram is also launching a $200,000 crowdsourcing competition for template makers.

Soon you'll be able to order pizza, shop for clothes, or maybe pay your utility bills using Telegram bots. "Instant View allows Telegram users to view articles from around the Web in a consistent way, with zero loading time". If you are a Telegram user, here are the key changes to the service you should know about before you hit update. "The bot uses these instructions to create a slim and handsome Instant View representation of the source page", explains the team. "Instant View pages support text and media of any type and work great even if the original website was not optimized for mobile devices".
