To celebrate the first anniversary of the game, Blizzard Entertainment has just announced an in-game event which will kick off on Tuesday, May 23. It highlighted the game's numerous accomplishments like its release, the "Overwatch" league, and many more. With so many players around the world, the first-person shooter game has proven that it is one of the most exciting games in the market.
Blizzard is celebrating the successful year at the Anniversary event.
To continue with the celebratory theme of Overwatch's anniversary, Blizzard will also be rolling out new dancing emotes for heroes.
Hopefully, more info about the upcoming Anniversary Event will come out soon.
In an "Overwatch" game event in NY, the director specified that anniversary details will be revealed next week.
In addition, Blizzard has also planned to hold another Free Weekend for the month of May. Players will be able to play on these maps in various modes such as Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Weekly Brawl mode.
Blizzard also revealed that it will be adding new content into the standard loot boxes of Overwatch, including sitting and laughing emotes for Sombra and Orisa. Some of the bonuses are 10 loot boxes with random items, Mercy's wings for "Diablo 3" players, Tracer for "Heroes of the Storm", new Hero Skins, and many more.
Blizzard has not yet announced their plans for their anniversary.
It is now unclear if all the Overwatch characters will be getting their own dancing emotes, or if only these four characters will be getting them.
After weeks of speculation, Blizzard has finally confirmed that Overwatch is getting a One Year Anniversary event.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
