The Best Fits In The 2017 NBA Draft
Finally, after years of NBA Draft lottery misfortune, the Boston Celtics got their payback in a big way on Tuesday night by getting the top pick in June's draft.
Monday night, the Boston Celtics secured their place into the Final Four of the National Basketball Association playoffs, beating the Washington Wizards in seven games.
After the lottery ended, Pierce wrote on twitter: "And look what I leave behind for the Celts on my way out #1 pick".
During Colangelo's 21-minute media availability Wednesday, one day after the Sixers learned at Tuesday night's NBA Draft Lottery that they have the No. 3 pick, he said he thinks the Sixers might be able to have their cake and eat it, too. The Los Angeles Lakers took second and the Sixers came in third.
The Philadelphia Sixers have had a pick in the top-three for four consecutive years.
Rumors have it that the Celtics love Markelle Fultz, and believe he can play alongside Isaiah Thomas, but might the Celtics dangle the top pick in the draft and see if the Pacers or Bulls bite on it and give up George or Butler?
The Boston Celtics are trying to go from No. 1 seed to No. 1 pick. The Nets finished with the league's worst record at 20-62 under first-year general manager Sean Marks, who replaced Billy King in February 2016.
South Korea's Moon warns high chance of clashes with North
The test was in open defiance of UN Security Council resolutions and the worldwide community has widely condemned the launch. The meeting came after North Korea successfully test-fired a new intermediate-range ballistic missile on Sunday.
The Suns also had the No. 4 pick last season and used it to select forward Dragan Bender. "We jumped up one more spot. We got fourth and personally, I'm good with it", McDonough added. For a team completely lacking in guards and perimeter shooting, a very guard stacked draft is the flawless way for them to address their needs.
That right to swap picks is just the latest reward for the Celtics.
Also, the superstar will be paid a lot of money, which means the team will hit the luxury tax if the money is counted against the cap.
Their victory made it three consecutive years the team with the best odds has won the lottery, after going the previous decade without a victory. If the 76ers stay at 3, their options are expected to be Duke'sJayson Tatum, Josh Jackson of Kansas or Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox, to name a few.
While Boston was going to get a top-four pick, the Los Angeles Lakers had to sweat out the lottery. They would have had to trade it to Philadelphia if it fell outside the top three.
Not only that, but they would have had to trade their 2019 first-round pick to Orlando if that happened, so Johnson was all smiles even after finishing behind the rival Celtics.
Suns fall 2 spots, will pick 4th in NBA Draft
Who won big and who left disappointed? But they are still very much underdogs to the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers. King will probably be mocked once again a year from now, when the Celtics - again - get Brooklyn's first-round pick.
United may target Oblak
The youngster has been targeted for his professional techniques by many worldwide clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea. United would demand a world-record fee for a goalkeeper of £60million, if they decide to sell the 26-year-old.
