The Indian men's compound team on Saturday defeated Colombia to clinch the gold medal on the penultimate day of the archery World Cup stage 1 championship here.

The men's recurve archers too fared no better in the individual event with India's top-ranked male archer Atanu Das losing 5-6 in the quarter-finals against the Netherlands' Steve Wijler.

India were represented by Abhishek Verma, Chinna Raju Srither and Amanjeet Singh.

In the fourth set, India emerged victorious as they extended their lead to 226-221.
