Russian government promotes conspiracy surrounding murdered DNC staffer

A Russian embassy is promoting a right-wing murder conspiracy

Slain DNC Staffer's Family Orders Blabbing Detective to 'Cease and Desist'

Local police in Washington, D.C., never even gave the FBI Rich's laptop to analyze after his murder, according to the current FBI official. On 16 May 2017, Wheeler told CNN that, contrary to his earlier claims, he did not, in fact, have evidence linking Seth Rich to Wikileaks, and that he "only got that [information] from the reporter at Fox News".

The Russian Embassy stepped into the conversation of the the so-called hacking of the 2016 election battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton by asking the question "Who Killed Seth Rich?"

Wheeler's contract with the Rich family prohibited him from speaking to the press without prior approval from the family, a clause he apparently violated when he spoke to Fox 5 D.C. Monday for a story that quickly went viral on the right. "That story on Fox 5 last night was inaccurate", he told BuzzFeed.

None of this, it seems, will make it on to InfoWars.

An anonymous federal investigator who has been in contact with both Wheeler and Fox News has also backed up Wheeler's allegations.

According to the federal investigator, "44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders, spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016, were transferred from Rich to MacFadyen", Fox News reported. In fact, prime time host Sean Hannity spent much of the week promoting the theory.

Ricketts also said the university administration has not resisted their protest. Not gonna lie, things like this gives me hope for the future.

Julian Assange probe dropped by Swedish prosecutors
He also said the case was politically motivated, as it followed massive Wikileaks dumps of secret U.S. military reports that year. On Friday afternoon, Assange appeared on a balcony at the embassy and described the development as "an important victory".

American authorities have prepared charges to seek Arrange's arrest, CNN reported, citing US officials familiar with the matter. Friday was the deadline for the Swedish prosecution to send a request to Stockholm District Court in the Assange case.

On Friday, Joseph Ingrisano, the attorney representing the Rich family, sent a cease and desist letter to Wheeler, saying his comments had caused "severe mental anguish and emotional distress".

The letter adds that Wheeler was aware of how traumatic Rich's death has been to surviving family members.

The story provides no source or evidence for the claim that Comey was personally responsible for securing the contents of Rich's computer, or that he had done so specifically for the benefit of the DNC or Hillary Clinton.

"It's my belief that Ed, over the course of six months, cultivated a relationship with the family, urged them to move in the direction of an independent investigation, conveniently had Rod Wheeler ready and available to step in, offered to pay for it, knowing full well that Rod as well as Ed had a shared political agenda", Bauman said. The family has accused conspiracy theorists of politicizing his death for political gain, and called posters of the conspiracy theories "disgusting".

"My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks", Wheeler recently declared in an interview with Fox News. The federal investigator has claimed that an FBI forensic report on Rich's computer, which was conducted shortly after his death, reveal that Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, who is now also dead. "It either case, they should be taken off the air because they are either blind to the damage they are doing to a murder victims family or don't care, showing a profound lack of judgement and common decency".
