Vladimir Putin plays Soviet songs during China visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin plays piano before meeting Chinese leader Xi Jinping on the first day of the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing China

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed today his opposition to any attempt to expand the club of countries with nuclear weapons and called for a solution to the dispute about Pyongyang through dialogue.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen tinkling the ivories on Sunday while waiting for a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Evening Song has become something of an unofficial anthem of St Petersburg (formerly known as Leningrad) and is usually performed with words praising the city. Putin is in the minority of top leaders who actually chose to attend. But he decides to plunge ahead regardless. A jab at a possible lack of attention to detail at China's state properties?

Both songs are from the late 1950s when the Soviet Union was emerging from the shadows of its premier Josesph Stalin's death in 1953, the New York Times reported.

This is not for the first time that the Russian president has demonstrated his musical skills. In 2014, he plunked out the same "Moscow Windows" at a meeting with students at the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute.

But he has also displayed his artistic side, singing Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill" in English at a charity event in 2010.

Addressing the media here, Malik said the journalist had not sought an appointment to interview him. The journalist alleged that 'Malik snatched her phone and smashed it to smithereens'.

Putin addressed the episode at a press briefing Monday in Beijing. Others argued that that poor performance wasn't Putin's fault, contending that the piano was only there for decoration and was out of tune.

"I can't say that I played.

"Thirdly, I think it's right that the decision was taken not for two or three or four months but for nine months, to the middle of next year".

Smith earlier said he hoped the attacks would serve as "a wake-up call", warning governments against stockpiling code that could be misused if it fell into the wrong hands.

Mr Putin said Russian Federation had "nothing to do" with the attack and blamed the USA for creating the hacking software that affects Microsoft computers.
