Nokia introduces new connected health products following Withings takeover

Nokia Digital Health Products

According to research cited by Withings - sorry, Nokia Digital Health - 'three out of four Europeans are expected to die prematurely from a chronic disease related to lifestyle, circumstance or habit such as heart disease yet 90 percent of cardiovascular diseases are preventable'. The Body Cardio scale is still available under the new Nokia branding.

"Completing the transition of products from the Withings brand, Nokia trackers, scales, vital health devices and home products will now be available in-store and online through top retailers", the company said in a statement. Nokia had acquired Withings back in April 2016 for a massive $192 million.

In many ways it's business as usual, with numerous products that we've raved about from Withings over the last few years moving across, including the Activitie Fitness Watch range (though they lose the Activitie name), forehead thermometer, an improved blood pressure monitor and an upgraded BMI Wifi Connected Scale.

Then there's the health app which ties this all together - Nokia Health Mate.

This new scale is the most affordable and will cost you only $59.99 (or 50 pounds), which is way less the money you'd have to shell out to buy a high-end Nokia scale.

Users can access the Weight Trend Screen to visualize progress during each weigh-in, and the BMI Insights service gives access to data analysis and BMI trends over time.
