Appearing on the Sunday talk shows, new Trump legal defender Jay Sekulow set out to deny Trump was under investigation (calling the president a liar?). "What we know is that James Comey, when he testified, confirmed that he told the president on three separate occasions he was not under investigation regarding this Russian probe".
Jay Sekulow, Trump's latest member of the legal team, said on CBS's Face the Nation that the 45th President of the United States of America "has not been and is not" under any investigation whatsoever.
"To say, "Comey told him he's not under investigation, so he can't be" - that's illogical", Cuomo said.
After firing of James Comey, Robert Mueller was appointed a special counsel to investigate Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election and the alleged collusion between Trump campaign associates and the Russians. Additionally, mounting conflicts of interest involved with the special counsel investigation mandate the recusal of Rosenstein and his special counsel appointee Mueller.
Prominent criminal lawyers have been contacted to possibly represent Jared Kushner in the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 USA election, The New York Times reports.

Mueller's probe is in its earliest stages and the idea he had narrowed the investigation down to one person is absurd. I mean who else but him would you want in this position?
Even more troubling, however, is the fact that Mueller himself might have to answer questions in any obstruction investigation.
The president has directed some of his frustration at Rosenstein and Mueller. Sen.
"I don't believe it's going to happen", Rubio said on CNN. It's hard to think of something more self-incriminating than the president firing the person investigating him for obstruction. Moreover, he used an Federal Bureau of Investigation computer to create a memo of an incident that took place within his scope of work, which involved a meeting with the president and the conversation that transpired between the then-acting director and the nation's chief executive. He said he told Mr. Comey "that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice needed to be careful to follow department policies regarding appropriate contact with the White House".
The panel sent a bipartisan letter this month to White House counsel Don McGahn seeking an answer by this Friday. Trump has publicly denied asking Comey for his loyalty; Comey's sworn testimony also directly contradicts Trump on this point.
"To fight the notion that Mueller would be looking at this at all seems to be something that only the president wants to be not true", Cuomo said.
Despite the reported discussions, his current legal team has not been changed, and Ms Gorelick has been preparing Kushner for a meeting with investigators from the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
Independent Sen. Angus King of ME and Democratic Sen. "This is a very complex matter involving thousands of pages of intelligence documents and lots of witnesses". Would you confidently go ahead and try to buy the house, brushing aside the information you'd received?
While aides have advised Mr Trump to stay off Twitter, the president continued to weigh in Sunday as he spent the weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland.

The victory turned Sekulow into a crusader for religious expressions and a celebrity on the Christian right. Earlier in the morning, Kellyanne Conway summed up the case Sekulow had made ad nauseam on Sunday.
