The couple Muhammad and Afraa Bilal landed in Canada previous year in February with their two children after running away from war-torn Syria.

The couple arrived in Canada in February 2016 after fleeing war-torn Damascus. After learning Canada was starting to take in Syrian refugees after Mr Trudeau became Prime Minister, they jumped at the chance to leave.

Amtrak: Work is ahead of schedule at Penn Station
A New Jersey Transit train has become disabled, causing delays in and out of New York Penn Station Saturday evening. The trouble began when a train from Miami carrying 165 people stalled as it entered Penn Station about 11:50 a.m.

The boy, whose full name is Justin Trudeau Adam Bilan, was born in May in Calgary, Alberta.

The Bilals are not the only family to name their baby after Justin Trudeau, a number of Syrian refugee families across the country have also named their newborns after the prime minister.

"My husband says 'How about if we name the boy Justin-Trudeau, like him, '" she said.

Over 40,000 Syrian refugees have been resettled in Canada - the commitment to bringing them to Canada was one of Trudeau's first actions after winning the federal election. "He held (the baby) and he said, 'This is Justin-Trudeau, ' and then he says, 'I appreciate that you named him after my name'". And who can forget Trudeau's heart-warming note on social media, welcoming immigrants to the country, amidst the US President's disregard for the same?
