Caitlyn Jenner, a former Olympic champion and champion of the transgender community has "considered" a run for Senate in California because she feels compelled to change the "perception of the Republican party" as one of equality.
"I have considered it", Jenner said of a run for political office; "I like the political side of it".
Jenner spoke to radio host John Catsimatidis and said she is in the process of figuring out her possible future in politics.
"Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job". "... I would much rather convince Republicans to do better with (LGBT) issues than to try to convince Democrats to lower taxes and have less regulations and less government".
Jenner, herself a transgender woman, said she has been meeting with officials within the Trump administration, including a Sunday meeting with Nikki Haley, the US Ambassador to the United Nations.
Should she run, Jenner would nearly certainly run as a Republican, given her outspoken support for the party.
"There's a rumor you want to run for the United States Senate in California", Catsimatidis said.

'Can I do a better job on the outside? She explained that she's hoping the "perception" of the party can change from being beneficial to "rich, white, guys" to "the party of equality".
"I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real ..."
In her mind, if the new generation of Republicans can create an image of acceptance while maintaining their fiscally conservative values, it'll be a huge win for the party and the country.
"I believe in little things like the Constitution". But Jenner has clashed with Trump over transgender bathroom policy, and has been working to make the Republican Party more inclusive to the LGBTQ community. "If you can do that - if you can be socially aware of what's going on but conservatively economically [sic], I mean, that's the way to go".
