HTC apologises after ads appearing on the default keyboard
According to a couple of reddit posts, users were already seeing ads on their HTC 10 phones when they started using the keyboard. But once again, it's HTC's name and reputation that will suffer serious PR damage. This has infuriated a number of users and they have taken to social media to outrage against this. Heck, it is even possible that HTC didn't know that the ads would appear. This is something that no one expected from a multinational giant which has such a reputation in the markets.
Let's just be honest. There are some places where advertising is ethical and acceptable. Search Engines, Video Streams and various other places are nearly expected to show ads now. It added that the ads cropped up in the keyboard due to an error.

Deere win propels DeChambeau to Open at Birkdale
The win punctuated a comeback of sorts for DeChambeau, who capped a string of eight consecutive missed cuts last month in the U.S. Miguel Angel Jimenez was fourth on 16-under while Colin Montgomerie closed with a 68 to finish joint-sixth on 11-under.
The company said that it won't be showing ads on TouchPal, the keyboard app, anymore and also said that the ads were showing in the keyboard app "due to error". This is because HTC ships the phone with the basic version of TouchPal and in order to disable the ads the customers will have to get the premium version. HTC tweeted, "Pls.go to Settings Apps All apps Look for the app (TouchPal) Uninstall updates". This is absolutely not the experience we intended, and we're working to immediately fix the error and remove the ads as quickly as possible."-Jeff Gordon, HTC Global PR". While Microsoft only shows ads for Windows Store apps and some of its own products like OneDrive, HTC is literally putting third-party ads on the keyboard. After all, they are the ones who chose to partner with Touchpal and are guilty of letting the ad update through, whether by commission or omission. Including third party app (we often call it bloatware) is also bad move for OEM because they will not have control over the app when the app updates and same thing happened in with HTC.
