Macron assures Israel of 'vigilance' on Iran nuclear pact

Security expert warns of Iranian bases in Syria

President Macron confronted antisemitism in France yesterday as he voiced the country's guilt for sending thousands of Jews to Nazi death camps.

Macron urged for the renewed negotiations on Sunday in Paris during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Mr. Macron dismissed those who claim that the collaborationist Vichy regime did not represent the French state. Fewer than 100 were to survive the war.

Netanyahu's visit comes just after a surge of violence in Israel, where a gun attack by three Arab Israelis in Jerusalem's Old City Friday left two Israeli police officers and the attackers dead.

In 1995, former French president Jacques Chirac formally apologized for the "irreparable act" carried out by the collaboration of "French police agents and gendarmes, acting under the authority of their leaders", in the roundup.

The Union of French Jews for Peace (UJFP) described the decision to invite Netanyahu as "shocking" and "unacceptable". He called for thorough investigation into the recent killing of a Parisian woman believed linked to anti-Jewish sentiment. "They wish to destroy anyone that stands in their way - Jews, Christians, Muslims, who suffer the brunt of their savagery".

76,000 Jews in total were deported in France.

But if he stayed healthy and continued signing one-year deals, every penny would be guaranteed for Cousins. Indeed, Cousins likely will make huge money in free agency next offseason.

It was the first commemoration of this kind to be attended by an Israeli prime minister.

Macron said that "everything should be done so that negotiations restart" with the aim of reaching a two-state solution, as the global community has long sought.

Anxious that Mr Netanyahu is backing away from commitment to a two-state solution, Mr Macron assailed Jewish settlement construction as a threat to global hopes for peace.

The two leaders also discussed fighting extremism in Syria and elsewhere, and improving economic cooperation.

"We called for this protest and we protest President Macron's invitation to Netanyahu and his rolling out of the red carpet to a criminal, a torturer - the torture of men and children exists - to a land thief, to someone who does not respect global law or human rights, which is embarrassing", she said.

Pro-Palestinian and other activists protested Netanyahu's appearance, criticizing Jewish settlement policy and the blockade of Gaza.
