Xiaomi 5X launching on July 26 with 6GB RAM
Xiaomi is working to bring its third sub-brand after Redmi and Mi, which will reportedly be called - Lanmi, confirmed a Chinese micro blogging site - Weibo. Now given that so many leaks keep taking place around Xiaomi smartphones, this one needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. The smartphone which we previously reported as Xiaomi X1 under the Lanmi brand but after this new report, the first smartphone is going to be Xiaomi 5X. An image of a poster reveals a new handset, the Xiaomi 5X. In fact, the device looks just like the OnePlus 5, except that the LED flash on the Xiaomi 5X is present left side to the camera setup opposed to its placement on the right as in the case of latter.
The Xiaomi 5X will come in two variants, with the standard variant powered by the octa-core 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. Earlier, it was expected that the new smartphone would come with the Snapdragon 660.
The poster reveals nothing about the handset's native display resolution or if it would support a full HD display.

We do know that Xiaomi is preparing to launch the new sub- brand before the end of the month. It is said that the upcoming Xiaomi 5X could be a mid-ranged smartphone.
The Xiaomi 5X is expected to feature a thin metallic body and it is expected to arrive in color choices like gold and black. While no hard evidence of the LanMi launch exists, Xiaomi has recently shown a lot of interest in the Offline market launching several POS stores in it's main markets including one in India. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is indeed the alleged Mi X1. This way, Xiaomi wants to more effectively compete with other brands, such as Oppo and Vivo. That aside, it is expected to come with a 16MP selfie shooter. At least, the placement of the dual camera setup and the antenna bands make us believe so. As for software, the smartphone will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat layered with MIUI 9 on top. The Chinese OEM may, however, debut even more color variants at launch. So far, Xiaomi has not officially announced an event for July 26 in China.
