MACC detains Penang exco (Updated)
The Star Online reported that the 70-year-old man and his 37-year-old son were detained at about 6.45pm when they arrived at the state MACC headquarters in Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah to have their statements recorded.
A team of five officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today raided the office of Penang exco member Phee Boon Poh on the 53rd floor of Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Komtar), here.
Rayer, when met by reporters outside of the MACC Office said Phee, who is also Sungai Puyu assemblyman, would probably be taken to the court today for a remand order to be obtained against him.
Azam said six MACC officials had also searched Phee's house in Taman Desa Oren, Sungai Puty, Butterworth earlier today.
Meanwhile, a candlelight vigil has been organised outside the MACC office at 9.30pm, following Phee's arrest.
Phee was previously arrested for being part of the Voluntary Patrol Squad, or PPS, which was outlawed by the home ministry.

The MACC is believed to be investigating an issue regarding a sawdust factory in Bukit Mertajam suspected of flouting environmental regulations.
The Department of Environment found the factory did not have a proper air pollution control system.
She said that in May this year, she received an 18-page petition, signed by 180 villagers objecting against the operations of the illegal carbon filter factory.
Yesterday morning, the MACC confiscated documents from the Seberang Perai Municipal Office in Bandar Perda to help in investigations into the case. The officers left with heaps of documents.
A resident told The Sun the factory had been emitting noxious fumes for the past 15 years without any action taken by the authorities here.
