Report: Broncos DE Billy Winn Out For Season

Broncos DE Billy Winn out for season after suffering serious knee injury

Denver Broncos defensive lineman Derek Wolfe had to be carted off the practice field Saturday morning after an apparent right leg injury.

Adams originally signed with Pittsburgh out of Mississippi State in April. He was released by the Steelers last week when the team signed cornerback JaCorey Shepherd to bolster its secondary. In his career with the Bulldogs, Adams compiled 80 total tackles, 4 sacks, and an interception.

The Broncos have placed defensive end Billy Winn on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Bears. The 28-year-old signed a one-year deal on May 3.

Winn, a sixth-year pro from Boise State, played in all 16 games last season in his first year in Denver.

The Broncos, who edged the Bears 24-17 to start the exhibition slate, will be back in action on August 19 when they travel to San Francisco.

The sixth-year player out of Cincinnati has 191 tackles (134 solo) and 22.5 sacks in his National Football League career, all with Denver.

The regular-season opener will be played at home when the Broncos host the Los Angeles Chargers.
