The Brazilian, who has been with Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande since 2015, has been a target for the Nou Camp club for much of the summer and has now completed his move.

Their initial attempts to land the former Tottenham player were not successful, but things are about to change in the coming hours.

Four Brazilian sides, Corinthians, Club Atletico Juventus, Bragantino and Audax, will share 5% of the transfer fee, while Polish club Lodzki Klub and Lithuanian outfit Vilnius are also set for a windfall.

In July Barcelona offered £17m for the star but have since increased their offer significantly in order to complete the deal.

Surprise links between Barcelona and Guangzhou midfielder Paulinho began to arise in the media earlier this summer, with the Blaugrana keen to add some dynamism to their midfield following a disappointing campaign. But there is no question the team needed someone like him.

The visitors then took the lead two minutes later as Salah bagged his first Liverpool goal by poking into an empty net. I'm responsible for all of our players, not just one or two or three, but all of them.

To be fair, Paulinho has been an integral part of Brazil's side since Tite took over as national team manager in June a year ago after the team had a miserable time in the Copa América Centenario.

Adding the Brazilian worldwide should improve Los Blaugranas' squad on both ends of the pitch.

But with the Reds refusing to negotiate even at £100m, and Borussia Dortmund asking for £130m for winger Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona are concerned that they will not be able to sign both players.

Barcelona are continuing their pursuit of Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho despite having signed Paulinho for £36.5m from Guangzhou Evergrande, the Daily Mail have reported.
