Wozniacki ends Stephens´ run to reach Toronto final

Caroline Wozniacki leans into a return at the Rogers Cup where she advanced to Sunday's final

Wozniacki routinely dispatched resurgent American Sloane Stephens, 6-2, 6-3, to book her spot on the Rogers Cup final in Toronto.

The No.6-seeded Dane broke six times on nine opportunities and won half of her first-serve return points (17 lf 34) as well as 13 of 17 second-serve return points to cause problems for Stephens all day.

Wozniacki is yet to win a title in 2017, but will once again have the chance to change that after building on her epic quarterfinal win over world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova. She beat Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber and Lucie Safarova to reach the semi-finals. But Wozniacki struck again a few games later, and served out the match after a brief rain delay at 5-3.

Wozniacki will play Romania's defending champion Simona Halep or Ukrainian fifth seed Elina Svitolina in Sunday's final.

The pair took to the court early Saturday morning after Friday's rain delays forced the quarter-finals to stretch into a second day. But I think I'm ready, I feel strong enough in my legs. "I just want to give my best, enjoy the match, and try to fight".
