GOP, Dem Leaders Come to Table to Discuss DACA, Border

Evelin Hernandez 27 cries as she holds a sign reading

"There's a lot of students who are younger than us, and if this goes away, they won't be able to go to college", Ortiz said.

Trump also said his promised wall along the U.S. -Mexico border would "come later".

"Subject to getting massive border control, we're working on a plan for Daca".

The majority of DACA recipients hail from Latin American countries.

He added: "If we don't have the wall, we are doing nothing". Chuck Schumer of NY and Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, the top Democrats on Capitol Hill. This rest of the candidates were complete idiots, so of course, you had to 100 percent support Trump.

On the Senate floor Thursday morning, Schumer insisted that both sides were in agreement and there was no dispute.

"President Trump's tweets are not inconsistent with the agreement reached last night". What Trump, and my book 'In Trump We Trust, ' established, is what the popular issues are.

While that was hard to swallow for a number of Republicans in Congress, waking up to news on Thursday about a possible DACA deal - and no money for a border wall - created even more cognitive dissonance for the GOP.

"We're not looking at citizenship".

Why Entrepreneurs Carry Business Cards

The Trump administration is eager for a large legislative victory before the 2018 midterm elections after Republican-led efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act failed in the Senate. It was, after all, part of the last attempt at comprehensive immigration reform that we and much of the nation backed in 2013.

But Trump's discussions with Democrats left many Republicans wondering whether they would have the White House's cooperation for their solutions.

Trump did not appear to be facing a fully-fledged mutiny, yet, over his seeming willingness to put the border wall project on the back burner.

"We have to make a whole new set of standards".

The shift on whether an immigration deal hinged on funding for the wall, something many Trump campaign supporters would have thought to be unheard of while listening to Trump's white-hot rhetoric on immigrants during the 2016 campaign, shows the President's desire to strike a deal from the White House and his willingness to work with Democrats to do it. Schumer's staff replied that whatever Trump's future plans for a wall, he had at least agreed to stand down for this deal.

"First off, there is no agreement", Ryan said.

Meadows said he wasn't alarmed by reports Trump was close to a deal with Democratic leaders. And he repeatedly challenged Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brett Shumate to persuade the government to extend an October 5 deadline for DACA recipients to renew their applications. But does anyone really believe that the Democrats will sign on for any of those things as part of a deal?

Initiated by Obama in 2012, almost 800,000 people had been approved for DACA, which protects participants - referred to as "Dreamers" by the programme's supporters - from deportation and allows them to work or attend university. Trump admonished Congress to get to work to do something!.

But the biggest contradiction of all was when Mr. Trump said that nobody wants to deport the young immigrants, "Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military?" "They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own", Trump tweeted at 5:35 a.m. EST, "brought in by parents at young age".
