Adopted son of Jerry Sandusky pleas guilty to sexual abuse charges
His trial had been scheduled for September 22.
The guilty plea arrived one week before Jeffrey Sandusky's trial was scheduled to begin in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
The terms of the plea mandate that Sandusky serve 3-6 years in prison, but he could be jailed for up to eight years. Another minor told police that Jeffrey Sandusky had asked her to perform sex acts on him when she was 15 years old, according to a release from the District Attorney's Office.
One of six adopted children of Jerry Sandusky, Jeffrey Sandusky has been a stalwart supporter of his father, who is serving a lengthy prison sentence for sexual abuse of 10 boys.
Former Egyptian president's prison sentence reduced by 15 years
The life sentence for Morsi is now final while the Court of Cassation canceled another 15-year prison sentence handed down to him. The court also upheld death sentences for three other defendants, a life sentence and a 15-year sentence for two others.
The crimes were uncovered late previous year when a girl told her father that Sandusky had texted her repeatedly, asking her to send him naked photos. The plea agreement also forces him to register as the highest tier sex offender in the commonwealth. Sandusky told her "that it's not weird because he studied medicine", and that "nobody needs to know", police said. Sandusky sought pictures of her "pissing", dressing, naked body parts and nudes.
The girl's mother told investigators that when she confronted Mr. Sandusky, he told her "he knows it was wrong and inappropriate", the police said.
According to the criminal complaint, a second child was also abused in 2013.
He was charged in February with solicitation of statutory sexual assault, solicitation of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, solicitation of child sexual abuse and unlawful contact with a minor, among 14 total charges, PEOPLE confirmed at the time. "We are happy that these girls can move forward and experience a life with adults that deserve their trust", Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said.
