Trump Administration Reportedly Won't Pull Out of Paris Climate Agreement

'Paris agreement should not be renegotiated': Talks with environment leaders underway in Montreal

"Trump administration officials said Saturday the us wouldn't pull out of the Paris Agreement, offering to re-engage in the global deal to fight climate change, according to the European Union's top energy official", the outlet reported.

President Donald Trump in early June said the United States would exit the accord because other countries were, "gaining a financial advantage over the United States".

The White House on Saturday denied that there is any change to the Trump administration's position on the Paris climate agreement, after the Wall Street Journal, citing a European Union official, reported the US will not back out of the deal.

After a whirlwind of rumors in late May, Trump officially announced on June 1st that he would be withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. His decision fulfilled a campaign promise, but was met with widespread criticism both at home and overseas.

The Paris agreement was signed by 195 nations in December 2015.

Singapore Grand Prix to remain on F1 calendar until 2021
The Indian Grand Prix was first held at the Buddh International Circuit in 2011. Sebastian Vettel is the dominant driver in Singapore, having won it four times.

The Wall Street Journal report, which cited a top European Union official, claimed that the turnaround came during a Montreal gathering of environment ministers and officials from 30 countries.

He said the USA would "begin negotiations to re-enter either the Paris accord or really a entirely new transaction" on terms that he said are fair to US businesses, workers and taxpayers.

If true, this would mark yet another reversal of a Trump campaign promise, one of the most controversial.

But the White House promptly issued a denial.

"It's truly said to see all the fairweather friends turning on Trump", Baked Alaska said on Twitter. "The United States can do whatever it wants either way".
