Deandre Harris, a 20-year-old black man who was viciously attacked by white supremacists at the Charlottesville, Va. white supremacist rally nearly two months ago is now a wanted man after a local magistrateissued a warrant for his arrest in connection to the same August 12 incident that left him bloody and wounded.
A local magistrateissued a warrant for Deandre Harris Monday on charges of malicious wounding, after an unnamed person claimed to have been injured by him during the August 12 brawl, the local NBC affiliate reported.
Two men - 18-year-old Daniel Borden of OH and 33-year-old Michael Ramos of Georgia - were identified, arrested, extradited to Virginia, and charged with malicious wounding in August. A detective went to the magistrate and confirmed the victim's claims. The charge being leveled against Harris is an unlawful wounding charge.
Once Harris is arrested and taken in to custody an update to this media release will be sent out. Harris was seen bloodied in viral photos and a video after being attacked during the rally in August.
Charlottesville police have charged two of Harris's attackers, but only after a national campaign demanded they do so.

Merritt added that the warrant is "highly unusual", saying that they are typically issued by the police department instead a magistrate. "We find it highly offensive and upsetting, but what's more jarring is that he's been charged with the same crime as the men who attacked him", Merritt said.
What was Harris's reaction to the warrant? Harris suffered a concussion and a head laceration that required 10 staples.
White supremacist Borden, hours before attacking Harris, threw the metal-tipped wood at photographer Roberts' head.
At a court hearing in September, Ramos's attorney said "it may have been Mr. Harris who struck the first blow in that fracas", according to the Daily Progress. "I chipped my tooth", Harris said. Ramos even stated, "There were some non-racist members who were going to a free speech rally".
