This Real-Life Nissan GT-R Is Controlled With A PlayStation Controller
To mark Nissan's 20-year involvement with the Gran Turismo Sport game franchise, the Japanese automaker created this one-off project: a life size GT-R controlled entirely by a DualShock4, and piloted by NISMO athlete and GT Academy victor Jann Mardenborough around Silverstone's famous National Circuit in the UK.
Nismo racing driver and Gran Turismo gamer Jann Mardenborough was then given the controller and told to lap Silverstone. Not only is Mardenborough a driver for Nissan Motorsport (and previously Impul, a Japanese racing team with deep ties to Nissan), Mardenborough's racing career began when he won the GT Academy competition, a Gran Turismo contest which takes the game's fastest players and put them into real-world racer development programs.
GT Academy victor and NISMO driver Jann Mardenborough was the lucky rascal charged with manoeuvring the thing, and he did so from the cockpit of a helicopter to make it all the cooler. Obviously having a ball, Mardenborough didn't hold back, averaging 122 km/h (76 mph), reaching a top speed of 211 km/h (131 mph) and clocking a lap of 1:17:47. Jann controlled the GT-R/C from the cockpit of a Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter, which had been given special permission to operate at a low altitude.
Gran Turismo Sport is due to be released on October 17-barring any unforeseen six-year delays. Still, it would not be so until next several years after which Nissan introduced the vehicle and availed them in the European as well as American markets and this is how the mental connection has become permanent between the Gran Turismo and GT-R. The extensive modifications to the auto included four robots operating the steering, transmission, brakes and throttle.
Oil prices stable as OPEC says market is rebalancing
The price of Brent crude oil is now trading around $57.00 a barrel, having risen from six-month lows below $45 a barrel in June. Oil has found support from the deal but, trading below $57 a barrel on Wednesday, crude is still half its mid-2014 level.
During the run, a micro-computer transmitted inputs from the controller to the GT-R's on-board systems. Six onboard computers were able to update the controls 100 times per second, and the vehicle had a wireless range of just over half a mile.
Dubbed the GT-R/C (R/C for "remote control"), the vehicle was actually a modified 2011 model with a top speed of 196 miles per hour.
"This was once-in-a-lifetime, truly epic stuff", Mardenborough said. As a victor of the Nissan GT Academy competition that combines virtual racing with actual track races, Mardenborough was a natural choice for the task.
Amazon finally made a waterproof Kindle
There are little tweaks to the software, as well, including more font size gradations and the ability to bold any font. My favourite feature is the option to left-justify text, which gives text a more book-like appearance.
Interesting Xiaomi Mi MiX 2 Features
It features two 13-megapixel sensors - a standard lens with aperture f/1.7, and a wide-angle lens with aperture f/2.4. What's more - the gold accent on the rear camera, fingerprint sensor, and the logo give it an even more stylish edge.
Tom Brady Returns To Patriots Practice

Giants suspend CB Rodgers-Cromartie
Rodgers-Cromartie, a veteran, has been with the Giants since 2014 and is part of a team that is now 0-5, its season all but over. Rodgers-Cromartie has been one of the Giants' key defensive players, missing just two games since he arrived in NY .
