The Dutch DPA investigated Windows 10 Home and Pro and found that Microsoft still doesn't properly inform users about the type of data it collects, nor for what goal. Another option that's enabled by default in a similar way also gives Microsoft and app developers permission to use the data for personalized ads.
On Friday, DPA said that they conducted a thorough investigation of MicrosoftWindows 10 Home and Pro operating systems, and found that the users are not clearly informed "about the type of data it uses, and for which goal". They are not informed which data are being used for what goal, neither that based on these data, personalized advertisements and recommendations can be presented, if those users have not opted out from these default settings on installation or afterward. If this is not the case, the Dutch DPA can decide to impose a sanction on Microsoft. With Voice Search, you can simply use your voice to perform a web search, a feature that could come in handy at times. Because of the company's approach to data collection, the users can't provide valid consent to Microsoft, according to the European Union data protection legislation.
I want our customers to know that it is a priority for us that Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro are clearly compliant under Dutch law. The preview will take about 56MB of your phone space; but could take much more than that when the full version is finally out probably soon.

Microsoft has been saying that it collects and processes the data from the Windows 10 to secure and improve its products and services, fix issues and keep the devices up-to-date.
It seems if the protection of your users is one of their your priorities, it makes a lot more sense to use Edge than Chrome. The way Microsoft collects data at the full telemetry level is unpredictable.
The Dutch DPA exemplified the fact that Microsoft collects data about which news articles users read in the Edge browser, without making them aware that this data is being collected.
One of the best feature about the new browser is that you can continue a webpage from your laptop or desktop. "Next week, we have even more privacy improvements coming in the Fall Creators Update", the firm said. In its place, the company has adopted a more pragmatic approach that embeds pieces of its Windows experience in iOS and Android.
