Paris plans to banish all but electric cars by 2030

Paris Officially Says It's Phasing Out All Non-Electric Cars
According to French local authorities, Paris has made a decision to cease all internal combustion engine-powered vehicle sales by 2030, looking to become a carbon-neutral city by 2050.
Despite France itself planning on banning the sale of gasoline and diesel cars within the country in 2040, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo believes that it's simply not fast enough.
Speaking on France Info radio, the Paris deputy mayor in charge of transport, Christophe Nadjovski, said "we have planned the end of thermic vehicle use, and therefore of fossil energies, by 2030".
Astros-Yankees: Seven Things To Know Before The ALCS
The stakes: The Yankees haven't played in the ALCS since 2012, an eternity when measured in Steinbrenner Years. Cleveland:.286 average, 21 AB, 2 runs, 6 hits, 1 double, 0 HR, 2 RBIs, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 SB, 1 CS, 5 games.
Many other cities in the world are considering similar moves and China, the world's biggest polluter after the United States, recently announced that it would soon be seeking to get rid of combustion-engine cars too. Paris has also instituted temporary auto bans inside the city in response to pollutant levels in the area, causing some irritation from city dwellers who have to commute by vehicle. City dwellers there rely heavily on public transportation and heavily utilize bike sharing networks and scooters.
It already has car-free days and car-free zones, while it also fines drivers who enter the city in vehicles over 20 years olds - moves that have attracted criticism in the past. It's also worth noting that Paris served as the host city of the global Paris Climate Accord, a pact to reduce carbon dioxide globally. The deadline for those cars is 2024, which is when the city will play host to the Olympic games. The City of Lights plans to bring about a gradual phaseout of combustion-engine cars by the year 2030, avoiding calling it a "ban" but echoing steps already taken by the city government to reduce air pollution in the city, Reuters reports.
While fossil fuel emissions affect all of France and, indeed, the whole planet, Paris is a hotspot for particle pollution.
