Senior police official killed in targeted Quetta attack

Hamid Shakeel Durrani among three officers embraced martyrdom in a suicide blast that targeted police van in Quetta's Chaman Housing Scheme today (Thursday).

However Hamid Shakeel and two other police officials succumbed to their wounds.

The anti-state Pakistani Taliban claimed credit for plotting Thursday's deadly attack in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province.

Shakeel has served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) operations, acting DIG investigations and AIG operations, as well as holding a number of other key posts.
