Apart from Jaya TV, the residence and office of Sasikala's nephew Vivek Jayaraman, his sister's house in Thyagaraya Nagar and another house in Bengaluru are among the other places being raided by I-T. The raids have been on-going at different locations, mainly related to or owned by, VK Sasikala, the sidelined AIADMK leader, who is in jail for corruption.
In a case of alleged tax evasion, the raids at Jaya TV and Dr Namadhu MGR (Tamil newspaper) premises in Chennai were conducted by the Income Tax department, reported a leading news channel.
The Times of India reported that a team of 10 Income Tax officials entered the Jaya TV office at around 6 am. We will not allow the party behind the raids to spread roots in Tamilnadu, ' he said. Jaya TV, started by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in 1999 was a mouthpiece of the AIADMK and has lately become a severe critic of the Edappadi Palanisamy government.

Raid locations included Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Trichy, Coimbatore and other districts at properties belonging to Sasikala's family members and associates.

Stalin on Thursday sought an explanation on the I-T raids that have taken place in Tamil Nadu over the last one year. "These raids have been conducted to further amplify the intra-party disputes of AIADMK". Soon after IT authorities arrived at his home in Adyar in high-class south Chennai, Dinakaran said the raids were politically launched. "My simple question is why target the family?" asked Prasanna, spokesperson of the Sasikala-Dhinakaran faction of AIADMK.
Asserting that the I-T action against him and Sasikala's close aides was being "orchestrated by the Centre; EPS (Palaniswamy) and OPS (Panneerselvam) are both behind this" Dhinakaran said: "I will not bow down".
