Google's Upcoming 'Files Go' App to Compete with Apple's AirDrop

Files Go – Google's unreleased file management app appears, quickly disappears from the Play Store

Talking about the Files Go app, it's a simple file manager that aims to help you take care of the files stored on your phone and tell you about which files are taking up most of the space. However it can be still be downloaded from APKMirror if you are willing to try out a beta software.

If you want to share files, that's possible, too. The app has since been pulled, but can be sideloaded as an APK file. Given the popularity of this neat app, Google has expanded the availability of the beta on the Play Store.

That's not all. Files Go also features a file sharing functionality directly to nearby friends using Bluetooth. The top of the "Storage" feed prominently lists how much space is on your device. These tips include app cache and large, downloaded, and duplicate files, as well as how much storage would be freed.

According to ZDNet, Files Go may be launch by next year and it will help Android users to transfer files from one phone to another without feeding on the mobile data.

The "Files" tab allows users to look through their files by categories like Downloads, Received files, Images, Videos, Audio, and Documents.

Twitter, Facing Another Uproar, Pauses Its Verification Process
Dorsey retweeted the message from @TwitterSupport , providing a bit more information about the decision. How exactly Twitter plans to clear up the confusion it created around verification remains to be seen.

Today Google released Files Go Beta for Android devices.

Nevertheless, a downloadable APK file of the Files Go app is available through APK Mirror to reveal its features. Called Files Go, the app apparently can transfer files between devices wirelessly without an internet connection. The UI shows a radar-like interface to initiate transfers between two devices - with the caveat that both devices needs Files Go to be installed.

Files Go in its current state is available for devices running Android 5.0 and above. It will compile the list from the last month of apps that you have used and not used.

Essentially, Google has made a decision to capitalize on the interest in the new app, thanks to its exposure through media coverage.
