Amazon pop-up to open at metro Detroit Whole Foods Market store

With Amazon now the owner of the Whole Foods healthy-eating grocery chain, it should come as no surprise that it'd start putting its products on the shelves next to desiccated fruit and quinoa parcels.

Set to be rolled out in 100 Whole Foods stores, these will showcase Amazon's device ranges including its new Echo Dot, Fire TV, Kindle e-readers and Fire tablets, amongst others.

The stores will also offer information about Amazon's Prime membership service and its Prime Video offering.

She did not disclose a specific date for the rollout but said they would appear before Black Friday - Nov. 24 this year.

As holiday season begins, Whole Foods Stores have given their marketing to a different twist, introducing Black Friday offers on all Amazon products and devices, starting a week before Thanksgiving.

It is also opening small, staffed shops in Whole Foods locations in Rochester Hills; Chicago; Davie, Fla.; Pasadena, Calif.; and Denver, according to a news release.
