Farooq Abdullah invokes Kashmir, says PoK belongs to Pakistan

Kashmir shocker from Farooq Abdullah: PoK belongs to Pakistan, autonomy must for peace

"Let them fight how many wars they want to". When the Beigh-Parthasarthy Accord was to be signed in 1974, on the question of changing the nomenclature of Chief Minister to Wazir-e-Azam and Governor to Sadr-e-Riysat Mrs. Gandhi said the needles of the clock can't be rewind back.

He also said that restoration of internal autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir as was enjoyed by it till August 9, 1953, when his father and then Prime Minister of the State, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah was dismissed and detained by New Delhi, is the solution to the persisting turmoil. This issue is between India & Pakistan. "If you talk about this being your part then remember the Instrument as well", said the National Conference (NC) leader. In response to former Home Minister Shri P. Chidambaram's statement regarding the grant of Greater Autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Narender Modi labeled him as a supporter of the separatists. "Those who are talking about Azadi are wrong", Abdullah said. "The part of the state under Pakistan belongs to them as our part belongs to India", Abdullah, who is also the National Conference President, told media here. "What about the part guaranteeing J&K's autonomy?" he wrote on Twitter on Friday.

Abdullah said India and Pakistan would have to talk so that people on both sides of dividing line live in peace.

Srinagar MP said, "A Pakistan Minister rightly said that you forget that the part which is yours was acquired by an Instrument of Accession. This is not only a negative approach but sets a unsafe precedent where the facts are deliberately being muzzled", he said.

He alleged that New Delhi "betrayed" the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

On statement by union minister Hansraj Ahir on PaK being part of India, he said the minister was right but forgets that Accession of J&K with Indian union was based on Instrument of Accession (IoA).

On the demand for autonomy, he said that while the state made a decision to join India out of love, the country "betrayed" the people of Kashmir and did not treat them well.

He accused Abdullah of "always playing non-serious and selfish politics" and said that the Kashmiris never take his words and personality seriously. Mrs. Inndira Gandhi was not willing to even concede to restore 1952-position of the centre-state relations in the Jammu and Kashmir State. "It is our right and it should be restored so that peace returns in the State". He has invoked the Kashmir issue and said, "The part which is with Pakistan belongs to Pakistan & this is India's part".

Elaborating, he said, "As I said, we are landlocked, on one side, we have China and, on the other, Pakistan and, on the third side, there is India". All the three countries are nuclear powers and have atomic bombs.

The former chief minister also said that Kashmir can not survive as an independent state.
