Colombian footballer Edwin Cardona is at the centre of a race row after seemingly making a "slant eyes" gesture to South Korean players during an worldwide game.

Colombian footballer Edwin Cardona has apologised after he was accused of making a racist gesture during a friendly global against South Korea.

South Korea ultimately won the game 2-1.

The incident took place early in the second half during an altercation between a number of players after Kim Jin-su and James Rodriguez clashed. At this point, Cardona, who had been on the bench up until this point, looked directly at Ki and used his fingers to pull back his eyes and make a racist gesture.

Colombia coach Jose Pekerman refused to comment on what happened, insisting he did not witness the incident.
