Conservatives smash Keurigs in Sean Hannity interview row

Roy Moore responds accusations fake news_00000000

After #BoycottKeurig started trending on Twitter over the weekend, the coffee machine company's CEO Bob Gamgort has expressed regret in an email to employees obtained by The Washington Post.

Gage has often tweeted using the hashtag #whitegenocide, which extremism expert J.M. Berger, a fellow with the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, identifies as an indicator of membership in the white nationalist movement.

The decision came after some consumers expressed concerns to the coffee company about host Sean Hannity's coverage of sexual misconduct allegations against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore of Alabama.

Moore is accused of making sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl while he was a 32-year-old attorney, in addition to pursuing romantic (although not sexual) relationships with other teenage girls around the same time.

Speaking to co-host Lynda McLaughlin, Hannity defended Moore's actions and appeared to blame the victims during a November 9 radio show. But critics said he went too easy on Moore, whom he supported in the Alabama primary, saying he appeared to agree to a characterization that some of the conduct was "consensual". "We worked with our media partner and FOX news to stop our ad from airing during the Sean Hannity Show". On Sunday evening, he pledged to give away hundreds of coffee makers. Moore has vehemently and repeatedly denied the allegations.

Hannity said he is going to delete his retweets of the smashing videos.

Uber loses court appeal against drivers' rights
TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady said: "Uber should throw in the towel and accept today's judgment. In August, London's Metropolitan Police accused Uber of failing to report sex attacks made by drivers.

"There are false allegations made", Hannity said, adding that the encounter was "consensual".

Even if Keurig was not specifically weighing in on the scandal, Hannity's fans saw the company as taking sides in a debate that's conflated morality and politics. "Frankly, I think [Keurig] were victims of a group they knew nothing about", he said, referring to Media Matters. Back in August, the liberal site called upon companies to withdraw their advertisements after Hannity defended President Donald Trump for his response to the deadly, race-fueled rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The heated political environment has created a slew of headaches for marketers who are pilloried for supporting some news networks and then slammed when they pull their ads.

While some conservatives on Twitter have hailed the apology as a victory, others who have condemned Moore's alleged actions felt it was an unnecessary concession.

Initially, company Realtor.com had pulled their ads from Hannity's show as well, but have since backtracked on their statement. Fox News swiftly ended its association with O'Reilly three weeks after the sexual harassment claims against him were revealed.
