Cybersecurity firm Bkav says a 3D-printed mask costing just $150 (£115) to make has fooled the Face ID software, which is used to unlock the iPhone X, authorise payments and log in to apps.

One iPhone X user claims that the FaceID was so fast at first that "there wasn't even a delay when I swiped up to unlock", but after few days of using the phones it became slower "to the point where it is very noticeable" regardless of the lighting conditions. The trouble with facial recognition is that too many humans have defining characteristics that can not be dissected by a machine-we look too similar.

Bkav says that the test shows that the technology shouldn't be used to protect people like presidents, business leaders, CEOs, and other dignitaries. The company published a blog post and video showing a "proof of concept" on how they broke into an iPhone X using a simple technique. Whether it's an infamous 3D printed copy of a TSA master key or a 3D printed turtle created to mess with Google's AI vision, additive manufacturing is helping members of the public spot the flaws in major security systems-before it's too late! The firm also says that fingerprint scanner is still the best way to keep the intruders from breaking into your phone. Bkav did not respond to a request to further explain its methodologies.

When Apple released the iPhone X on November 3, it touched off an immediate race among hackers around the world to be the first to fool the company's futuristic new form of authentication.

Alibaba crushes sales record during Singles' Day
President Donald Trump, JD said it would buy $2 billion in U.S. goods, including $1.2 billion in beef, over the next three years. E-commerce company Alibaba saw a chance in 2009, and started pushing it as a shopping day - an online shopping day, of course.

Apple's 2018 lineup could have three notched, bezel-less iPhones
Apple , however, had already acknowledged the unresponsive screen issue and promised a software update to resolve this. Currently, the iPhone X starts at $999 and is the cheapest way to have Face ID and the new design.

Missouri AG subpoenas Google in antitrust investigation
National regulators last probed Google in 2013, when the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reached a settlement with the internet company.

Fooling the iPhone X Face ID even with Bkav's method would require a lot of research and preparation.

Clearly, these guys knew exactly what to look for in their Face ID-duping efforts, spending plenty of time simulating the features of one of their own. Bkav said that they also kept the fact in the mind that the AI that powers Face ID learns over time.

Until then, there's no reason to stop using Face ID, unless you simply find it annoying to use. So the only way to scans someone's face is to be in the same room, with their participation (either by choice or forced). Apple will disable the Face ID after five attempts, and force the user to enter a passcode, which should be secure.

Wired made an array of deeply creepy masks, hiring a special effects makeup artist who spent 17 hours embedding thousands of eyebrow hairs with a needle - all of which failed to unlock the phone. Now, Bkav says that its 3D printed mask proves that Apple's new Face ID is "not an effective security measure". The company never specified how many attempts it made.
