2017 Supermoon: Where To See, And What Time To Look For The Lunar Event
Though it will technically be the fourth supermoon of the year, none of the other three were visible as they came in the new moon phase, when the face of the moon shows black. The moon should sit near the constellation Taurus, though it shouldn't be hard to spot.
The next supermoon will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
The perigee for this supermoon isn't the closest of the year; that happened on May 25, when the moon was 221,958 miles away from Earth. The moon's orbit around Earth isn't a flawless circle, which means that its distance to Earth changes as it goes around.
According to Michelle Nichols, director of public observing at Chicago's Adler Planetarium, there is a reason behind the moon's captivating close approach to the Earth.

If you're using a DSLR, NASA's senior photographer Bill Ingalls recommends that you use the daylight white balance to adjust for the sunlight being reflected off the moon. Then adjust the exposure slider that appears next to your finger to get the right balance of light for your shot. "Still, it's a great excuse to just go out and look at the sky", says Nichols. "It's a fun way to get involved in science".
