Stunning new super SUV - the Lamborghini Urus
06 December 2017, 01:12 | Ross Houston
The sleek lights paired with the large quad exhaust pipes makes the 2018 Lamborghini Urus look extremely stylish
When the Lamborghini Urus arrives in Australia in mid 2018, it'll be priced from $399,000 plus options and on road costs.
In the battle to capture the attention of wealthy drivers, the new entrant will be up against the likes of Bentley's Bentayga, the Mercedes G-Class and footballers' favourite, the Porsche Cayenne. Taking more like a Hummer that sports vehicle, this amusing auto was driven by a huge V12 engine.
Urus could be the entry-level model for Lamborghini and the company has estimated the annual sales around 3,500 which are equal to 2016's combined sales of its Huracán and Aventador. The sharp creases, deep cuts, and swooping roofline altogether reflects that the SUV is a mean machine.
Touted as a beefed up supercar, the Urus features a twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out 650-horsepower.
The Lamborghini Urus has a top speed of 189.5 miles per hour (305 km/h) and a 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) time of just 3.6 seconds.
How To Fix That iOS Bug That's Been Making Your iPhone Crash
After releasing the iOS 11 .1.2, Apple has rushed to the iOS 11.2 update that brings some bug fixes to the iPhone and iPad lineup. If the charging level is low, then you need to connect to AC power until the completion of the installation process.
No surprise is that the Lamborghini Urus touches the crown of the now most powerful production SUV. Comparing the Urus with the Huracan Performante, the SUV comes very close to matching the sports vehicle. The Lamborghini Urus has a four-wheel drive system featuring a Torsen central self-locking differential split 40/60 to the independent front/rear axle as standard, with a dynamic maximum torque of 70% to the front or 87% to the rear, enhancing traction to the axle with greater ground friction. The rear has either a three-seat bench with Isofix points or an optional two-seat configuration.
The SUV "allows you to travel on any terrain: on road, off road, on ice but also on sand dunes", said Lamborghini research and development director Maurizio Reggiani, suggesting it will be the fastest SUV on the market.
Just like other Lamborghini's the Urus name is also derived from bulls, which is an extinct wild ancestor of domestic cattle.
Lamborghini is expected to release the 2019 Urus in the spring and will retail in the United States with a starting price of $200,000.
