Lindsey Vonn: I'm Representing US, Not Trump, at Olympics

Vonn is one of a number of athletes who have spoken out against Trump since his inauguration

"I want to represent our country well", the cable news network reported Vonn said.

Lindsey Vonn sat down with CNN to talk about the upcoming Winter Olympics which the United States may or may not end up sending athletes to for safety reasons.

The alpine skier, who long dominated her sport outside of the marquee quadrennial event, boasts just two Olympic medals, winning a gold in the downhill and a bronze in the Super-G at the 2010 Vancouver games.

Vonn, who is in St. Moritz, Switzerland, gearing up for the Games, also said she wouldn't accept an invitation to the White House.

'I want to represent our country well.

Vonn has suffered a catalog of injuries throughout her career. Instead, Vonn is looking to represent her fellow Americans. "No, actually I think every US team member is invited.so no, I won't go".

Shohei Ohtani might not make his decision until next week, per reports
While there is no timetable for a decision, one can expect it to be made around the winter meetings, which begin on December 10. Banuelos was probably the Mariners' top catching prospect in their minor league system, certainly from a defensive standpoint.

CNN asked Vonn how she will feel representing the US under Trump after competing during the terms of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Vonn is not the first high-profile athlete to speak out against the Trump administration.

The Golden State Warriors did not go to the White House to commemorate their National Basketball Association championship after Trump revoked Curry's invite.

Olympic figure skating hopefuls Ashley Wagner and Nathan Chen have also reportedly said they would not visit the White House at President Trump's invitation.

"I have to win to be invited".

While some Olympic athletes may be critical of Trump and his policies, don't expect them to openly protest the USA president at the Games.
