Nokia 6 (2018) Launched with a Better Processor and More RAM

Nokia 6 leaked in live images ahead of January 5 launch

Overall the new Nokia 6 looks like a solid upgrade, offering an upgraded processor, 4GB of RAM, and an aluminum frame, all for around $250.

It is almost confirmed that HMD Global will be debuting its Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone in China today (January 5).

Though design language largely remains the same as Nokia 6, HMD Global has brought in a few aesthetic changes to Nokia 6 (2018).

This could affect other Android phone owners too; if phones reach a certain age, manufacturers often decide to stop updating them with new software.

If the rumours are to be believed, the Nokia 6 (2018) could be launched in China as early as tomorrow i.e. January 5. The battery size is the same old 3000mAh, and the cameras also appear unchanged, with a single 16MP rear-facing and single 8 MP front-facing sensor.

There's a circular fingerprint scanner on the back of Nokia 6 (2018).

Pricing for the Nokia 6 (2018) is expected to start at CNY1499 ($240 USD) for the 32GB model. According to the Chinese regulatory agency, the handset will be equipped with a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The model is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, which is clocked at 2.2GHz, and has 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The smartphone sports a 16 Megapixel really camera with f/2.0 aperture and house a 3,000 mAh battery. Similarly, it has finally ditched the micro-USB socket in favor of USB-C. As what we can see, the solid metal build remains, leaving no hope for wireless charging. The Nokia 6 this year is practically a reboot and what last year's buyers should have been given in the first place. Instead, the new Nokia device gets a regular 16:9 aspect ratio display with prominent bezels on top and bottom. The Nokia 6 second gen will officially launch January 10. It will be surely available in Europe as HMD Global is a Finnish company, but we have no idea about its launch date.

The Nokia 6 (2018)'s chassis is crafted using 6000 Series Aluminium for better strength and durability. That fingerprint reader has been moved around back, below the rear camera.
