AMBER Alert Canceled: 2 Girls Found Safe, Suspect Arrested

Police said 14-year-old Lilianas Griffith and seven-year-old Luluvioletta Bandera-magret were found on Wednesday in Trinidad, Colorado, almost 700 miles from their Texas home.

Terry Allen Miles, 44, had been sought in connection with the abduction of Lilianasi "Lily" Victoria Cake Griffith, 14, and Luluvioletta "Lulu" Mariposo Bandera-Magret, 7, as well as the death of their mother Tonya Bates, 44, police said. Federal authorities confirm Miles' mother received a text from one of the girls' phones Saturday, Dec. 30, but they have not confirmed it is the specific message Griffith has a photo of.

Earlier Wednesday, Miles was identified from surveillance footage at a business in Trinidad, Colo., on December 30, one day before Bates' body was discovered.

According to CBS affiliate KKTV, a Las Animas County Deputy spotted the suspect vehicle based on the AMBER Alert in the western part of the southern Colorado county.

Banks said Miles' vehicle started to drive erratically and a law enforcement official waited for backup before engaging the auto. The deputy called for backup and authorities initiated a 'high-risk traffic stop'. He was taken into custody Wednesday. Police said Griffith and Bandera-magret were inside the vehicle.

A man accused of abducting two young Texas sisters after their mother was found dead in their home was taken into custody in Colorado on Wednesday and the children are safe, authorities said. Police discovered the body of 44-year-old Tonya Bates, during a welfare check. Miles was a roommate of Bates. He's also being investigated for his role in Bates' death. "I cant talk now tonya was involved in some bad stuff I will talk to you later when im safe these guys are insane Mexicans".

Officials say Miles' criminal history is extensive, CBS Denver reports. At first, investigators believed Miles left for Louisiana, where he was previously arrested in 2011 for attempted murder.

One of those times was for porn involving a juvenile. "When we interviewed him for that it was a pretty disturbing interview", said Mancuso.

"I was just overwhelmed, I couldn't believe it", said Lili's father Greg Griffith, when he found out the girls were safe.

He said Miles moved to Texas during the investigation, and the case remains open.
