Stephen Miller backs Trump as 'genius', and gets kicked off CNN

The Latest Trump allies defend him against book's claims

Miller called Wolff a "garbage author of a garbage book" and also called Steve Bannon, the Breitbart chief and former Trump chief of staff, an "angry and vindictive person".

Comments attributed to Bannon about Trump Jr.'s 2016 meeting with Russian nationals to get damaging information about Democrat Hillary Clinton - that the gathering had been "treasonous" and "unpatriotic" - appeared in Michael Wolff's book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House", published on Friday.

Wolff went so far as to raise the spectre of the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution, in which a president's cabinet could attempt to remove him from office for being unable to perform his duties, although experts said that amendment was designed with the idea of a president being incapacitated by, for example, a coma. He also lauded Trump as a "political genius".

In an exceedingly tense interview Sunday morning, a top White House aide continued to deride a new book about the Trump administration while simultaneously downplaying Steve Bannon's role in it and defending President Trump's tweets about his intelligence.

Miller said the credit goes not to Bannon, but to Trump's first campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.

"I'm with him nearly every day", Mr. Pompeo said on "Fox News Sunday". Ronald Reagan had the same problem and handled it well.

Arsene Wenger confirms plan for new Arsenal signing Konstantinos Mavrapanos
Despite the lack options he has at his disposal, Wenger admits Mavropanos is not yet ready to make his Premier League bow. The Gunners have been linked with Chelsea's David Luiz, who is seemingly on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

"We urge that those around him, and our elected representatives in general, take urgent steps to restrain his behaviour and head off the potential nuclear catastrophe that endangers not only Korea and the United States but all of humankind", they wrote.

What, did you think Trump was at home reading a book or something?! Bannon referred to a 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr and a Russian Federation lawyer at Trump Tower as "treasonous" and suggested that it was highly likely that Trump Jr told his father about the meeting. "So, he's not really a remotely credible source on any of it".

Tapper grew exhausted of Miller repeating pro-Trump and anti-Bannon talking points and called the aide's constant interruptions "hysterical, ' as he cut the interview short by announcing, 'I think I've wasted enough of my viewers" time'.

Miller focused on edifying Trump's "political genius", until Tapper ultimately cut him off for refusing to cooperate.

When Tapper returned from commercial break, the journalist began the second part of his show by saying, 'Welcome back to State of the Union and planet Earth'.

"The reason why I want to talk about the president's experiences", Miller said, "what I've seen with him traveling to meet dozens of foreign leaders with his incredible work-You have twenty-four hours a day of anti-Trump material, you're not gonna give three minutes for the American people to get the real experience of Donald Trump". But Trump was eager for the last word. "Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!"
