Rather, it's being made by a company called Vuzix Corp., Bloomberg reports. "Accessing Alexa's music, information, and vast number of skills on our headphones will become easier than ever, and we're looking forward to bringing our collaboration to life".

The very first Alexa-enabled smart glasses are on their way, and making their debut at CES 2018, Las Vegas. The AR glasses will reportedly arrive in the second quarter with a cost around $1,000 (approximately Rs. 63,400).

When it comes to smart speakers, the Amazon Echo is still in the lead. Executives from Amazon's Alexa and Google's Assistant are to be seeking new partners and other big technology companies, including Apple Inc and Facebook Inc's Oculus division, will be at the show behind-the-scenes as they ramp up their virtual reality and AR products.

The Vuzix Blade specs look a little like chunky retro-future sunglasses, the kind of things you'd expect the fashionistas of London's borough of Chelsea to attempt to pull off while snaffling Bellini cocktails as an oligarch's swanky digs. It will soon make its way to get the anticipated HomePod voice-controlled speaker from Apple. Wearers of the product will be able to activate Alexa and make voice commands like requesting a map or asking for a basketball game's score.

Brilliant envisions users using the display cards for weather, news, and getting responses to simple questions, since tasks like getting recipes or watching videos probably don't make a lot of sense for a light switch, even one as fancy as the Brilliant Control.

Spreading Alexa's voice has been Amazon's vision for some time, and was a major theme at last year's CES, too, with Alexa starting to infiltrate cars, fridges and other household appliances.

The race to AR smartglasses is on, and the Vuzix Blade could be the first pair you'll actually want to wear.

Google was an early player in AR glasses, launching the Google Glass prototype before pulling back and focusing on adding AR features to its Pixel smartphone and releasing an enterprise-oriented headset.
