In the new Black Panther trailer or more like teaser, Erik "Killmonger" Stevens, which is played by, Michael B. Jordan, is a Wakandan exile turned black-ops soldier and is set on overthrowing T'Challa's reign, which is played by Chadwick Boseman.
After the events of Captain America: Civil War, T'Challa returns to Wakanda, (the isolated technologically advanced country), after his father's death to take his place as the rightful heir, but he is met with an old enemy who threatens civil war.
It's no coincidence that Black Panther will be released during Black History Month.
