In a not-so-veiled slap at the Kneel-FL, President Donald Trump hit the field for the national anthem before tonight's Alabama-Georgia College Football Playoff Championship Game in Atlanta.
A few police officers looked on at the small, peaceful protest as a leader with a bullhorn led chants in the direction of fans streaming past them before game time to Mercedez-Benz Stadium, about three blocks away.
But then President Donald Trump chose to make an appearance on Monday, presumably playing to his base in the Deep South states of Alabama and Georgia.
As a result, several groups, including the NAACP, have planned protests at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Activists have attempted to correct Trump, pointing out that the players are protesting racism and police brutality, not the flag or the anthem.
Monday's national championship game is the first football game Trump has attended since being inaugurated as president.
The Atlanta branch of the NAACP is encouraging those going to the game to wear white and wave white towels if they disagree with the Trump's policies and statements, a move meant to mock conservatives who sometimes call liberals "snowflakes". He sang a few words as Georgia's Zac Brown Band and a gospel choir performed the anthem.

Trump to attend the World Economic Forum at Davos
Ms Sanders rejected the notion that Mr Trump's attendance symbolised he was backing away from his message of economic nationalism. Executives at the conference will welcome Trump's corporate tax cut and the regulatory slash his administration had enforced.
Before entering the field for the national anthem Trump was greeted with a mixed reaction.
The players, as is normal in college football, were not yet on the field for the anthem.
A camera near the locker room where the Alabama players were exiting meanwhile appeared to catch one shout an expletive as he made his way to the field.
The president watched the game from a private box overlooking the Alabama sideline, flanked by ROTC students.
The White House announced last week that Trump would attend the championship game between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia. Rapper Kendrick Lamar, who has been a critic of the president, was set to perform during the break.
